    Sr. Java Application Developer

    Responsibilities

     

     

    Job Duties:

     

    • Developing cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new or modifying existing software applications that are moderately complex;
    • Analyzing and validating moderately complex system requirements and existing business processes and information systems;
    • Developing and implementing new programs and/or modifying existing applications;
    • Designing and prototyping new and/or existing systems including the development of test plans and program specifications with minimal interfaces;
    • Coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and implementing moderately complex software applications according to standards;
    • Developing specifications and programs, moderately complex technical modules, applications, prototypes and computer programs;
    • Performing all aspects of applications programming and development including design, update, storage and retrieval;
    • Evaluating and providing technical solutions to moderately complex application development problems; and
    • Mentoring junior developers.

     

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience, or a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years of experience, in a Developer role using Core Java, JavaScript, Angular JS, Git Hub, HTML, and REST Services in a SCRUM/XP Agile environment;
    • 1 year of experience with JSP, Spring, Struts, and Websphere.
    • Current assignment through Modis, Inc.’s Jacksonville, FL headquarters to a worksite in Des Moines, IA, but must be willing to travel and/or relocate within commuting distance of various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. for long or short-term projects.
